 International Relation:
The English-language form of studying foreign students was initiated at the NMU in 2004. Education of foreign citizens began in 1956; was carried out mainly in Russian, although shortly after Ukraine gained independence, groups with a Ukrainian-language form of education appeared. The teaching of academic disciplines in English is carried out in the specialties "Medical business" and "Dentistry".
In order to improve English proficiency at the department of foreign languages, the NMU in 2003 organized courses for university employees. Since 2016, English language courses for university professors are also conducted on the basis of the British Council.
More than 800 people are trained in the English language in the NMU - these are citizens of the United States, Sweden, Poland, Turkey, India, Iran, Iraq, Lebanon, Kuwait, Chad, Nigeria, Ghana. Students are provided with the dormitory at the time of their studies.
The department of international relations regularly conducts methodological work with the departments, controls the availability and quality of educational and methodological literature, and encourages the publication of textbooks and manuals in English. So, only two years ago Departments of the NMU had prepared manuals (all 50 titles), which in the form of brochures were printed and transferred to the university library. Due to the availability of computer rooms in NMUs and personal computers for students, all interested persons are provided free of charge with electronic versions of methodological developments in disciplines that are taught at the I-V courses.
Scientific and educational cooperation is being conducted with a number of renowned universities, including Oxford University (UK), Carolina Institute (Sweden), Alabama University (USA), Jagiellonian University.
The University holds a number of foreign citizens annually at such faculties as medical (training in the specialty "medical business"), dental (preparation in the specialty "dentistry"), pharmaceutical (preparation in the specialty "pharmacy") and preparatory faculty, where students receive basic knowledge in physics, biology, chemistry and Russian or Ukrainian languages.

More than 200 scientific and pedagogical workers work more than 200 doctors and more than 800 candidates of sciences, including more than 100 professors and more than 400 associate professors. MBBS Course Duration in Ukraine

MBBS course duration in Ukraine is 6 years. Most of the European countries have course duration of minimum 6 years in regard to MBBS degree. The State Establishment "DNIPROPETROVSK MEDICAL ACADEMY of Health Ministry of Ukraine" was founded on September 15, 1916 from the Ekaterynoslavsky higher female courses Institute. Dnipropetrovsk State Medical Academy (DSMA) conducts training of foreign nationals since 1990. In 1995 the Academy the first batch of foreign physicians was graduated. Since last 15 years, Dnipropetrovsk State Medical Academy (DSMA) trained more than 2000 foreign specialists from 30 countries of the world.

Faculties & Infrastructure

In the structure of the Academy there are 6 faculties (three medical, dental, the faculty of foreign students and the faculty of postgraduate education), with more than 4,500 students and medical cadets.

There are 646 teachers at 59 departments, including 98 doctors of science and 359 candidates of science. In total, the Academy employs over 1100 employees.

42 clinical departments are located at the bases of 28 hospitals and there more than 15 thousand beds are available for use. At the clinical bases of the Academy, 29 specialized centers are organized.

The Academy covers an area of 85 hectares. It has 8 educational buildings with a total area of 52,000 square meters, which accommodate 608 classrooms, offices and laboratories. In 6 hostels (1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7) with an area of 46,000 sq.m. 2849 students and doctors-cadets live. The Academy has a sports complex, a vivarium, a sports camp, a scientific library, a technology center and two museums.

Academics& credentials:

It has 4500 students and since its inception, the academy has trained about 49,000 doctors, dentists, pharmacists and nurses. Since 1996, the head of the Academy has been Professor G.V. Dzyak. There is a wide post-graduate course, involving Ukrainian and foreign young doctors. The first supervisors of Ph.MD degree attendants from Arabic countries in medical academy were professors: KryshenValerii Pavlovich/surgery/,ShkolnickValeriiMarkovich/neurology/ and FedotovValerii Pavlovich/dermatology/.
