Today, the University has five training and laboratory buildings, a library with reading and computer rooms, an Internet class, a center for educational and information resources, three hostels (one for foreign students) for students and cadets, sports halls, stadium, tennis court, summer basketball and volleyball courts, a health center with gyms, a ski base. The academy also includes a research center, an editorial and publishing center, a testing center, an information technology service, an educational and training center, etc. There are several computer classes, servers and local networks in the university. The general number of personal computers of the uneversity is 615 pieces, while 71 computers have access to the global INTERNET network. The University possesses six scientific and practical medical centers (its own clinical base): a clinical medicine center for 560 beds, a family medicine clinic, a dental clinic, a republican center for peritonitis problems, a regional vocational and pathological center, in which several tens of thousands of residents of the Western Kazakhstan recieve medical aid. In 2007 the cardiosurgical center was opened with modern medical equipment.

The Great Charter was signed by more than 60 Universities in Kazakhstan.
The ECTS (European Credit Transfer System) has been introduced as a basis for the transfer of credits during academic mobility of the students. There has been an implementation of the new guidelines on ECTS (approved at the Yerevan Conference of Ministers of Education of European Countries on May 14-15, 2015.
The Ministry of Education & Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan allocates funding for academic mobility of faculty & students, and universities themselves also find financial resources on academic mobility.
Universities have introduced advanced technologies & modern training system in the educational processes of medical studies.

Undergraduate course (for Indian Students ) : As per the part III, Section 4 of the Gazette of India, extra-ordinary issue dated 18.02.2002, an Indian citizen desirous of joining an undergraduate medical course in any foreign medical institution on or after 15th March 2002 shall have Eligibility Certificate issued by Medical Council of India, New Delhi. India. To get the Eligibility certificate a candidate shall be passed 10+2 or equivalent class (biology, physics, and chemistry with minimum 50% marks) from a recognized college.
For others: as per the rules of concerned country.
Post graduate course: Graduation in Medical and one year internship from recognized college/university/institution by the Government of concerned country.
Requirement of Documents for obtaining Student Visa & getting admission:
Upon satisfying all the admissions-related requirements stipulated by the Ministry of Education & Science, as well as the Universities', the student could go ahead with the admission process to fulfill his/her dream to be a doctor. The seats are limited and hence are allocated to the deserving students strictly on a first come first served basis. But, in the end, admission confirmation lies in the final discretion of the administration of the university depending on the availability of seats for foreigners and marks obtained in the 12th standard examination or equivalent.

In WKSMU priority is the practical focus and early clinical training in the educational process, which will allow the formation of a new model of a graduate of a medical educational institution in the near future. Clinical skills training begin with the first stages of training in the university. So, on the specialty "General medicine" on the 1st year, the percentage of clinical disciplines to the total volume of hours is 5.7%, on the 2nd year - 7.7%, on the third - 28.9%, on the 4- 7 - 100%.
In the first year, students learn the skills of communicating with the patient, caring for the patient and the simplest manipulation. In the future, the acquired and developed new practical skills that are necessary to solve key tasks of professional activity, effective interaction with other specialists of medical care delivery to the population are deepened. Clinical skills are practiced at the patient's bed in the Clinical Training Center.
According to the international program of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan "Bolashak" teachers of the faculty took internships in leading foreign medical universities: 2 - at the University of L'Aquila (Italy); 6 - at the Medical University of Ajio of the Republic of South Korea.

Academic mobility and international cooperation are one of the most important activities of the West Kazakhstan State Medical University named after M.Ospanov, contributing to the solution of the main tasks of the university: the training of highly qualified specialists, the development of priority areas of medical science. In order to increase the competitiveness of ongoing research and world-class graduates, ZKGMU actively cooperates with foreign universities and research centers.
Academic mobility is the movement of students or teaching staff researchers for teaching or research for a specific academic period: a semester, or academic year at another higher educational institution (inside the country or abroad), with mandatory retraining of established educational programs in the form of credits in their institution or to continue studying in another university.
WKMOSMU cooperates in the field of medical science, education and practical healthcare with 39 leading foreign universities on the basis of memorandums of understanding, contracts, and agreements on international cooperation, the number of which is increasing every year.

Within the framework of implementation, the project of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan "Modernization of medical education" of the “Densaulyk” Healthcare State Development Program for 2016-2019 as a strategic partner of the West Kazakhstan State Medical University identified K. Marchinkovsky Poznan Medical University (Republic of Poland). As a result of the partnership, the development of the university-oriented on competitiveness with the world's leading medical schools is expected.
About the University:
According to the decision of the Ministry of Higher Education of the USSR, the medical faculty of the Aktobe State Medical Institute was opened in 1957. The first admission was in 1957 (213 students), then the number of freshmen increased from year to year. So, from 1971 to 1995, more than 400 students were admitted to the medical faculty annually and from 1996 to the present time - up- to 700 or more.
Today, West Kazakhstan Marat Ospanov State Medical University provides the training of medical personnel in eight faculties - general medicine, stomatology, preventive medicine, pharmaceutical, training of specialists with secondary vocational education, advanced training of physicians, additional medical and pharmaceutical education.
Annually about 3000 of Kazakhstan and foreign students (students, interns, clinical residents, graduate students, students of the faculty of advanced training, cadets of the faculty of improvement of medical and pharmaceutical workers) receive education at the university. The output of each academic year is over 400 of young specialists.
In the history of its 61-years of existence, the medical faculty has produced about 20,000 doctors working in all regions of the country; more than 400 of graduates have become doctors and candidates of science (PhDs & post-Doctoral) and have made a significant contribution to the development of medical science and public health of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Faculties of General Medicine
According to the State Compulsory Educational Standard of the Republic of Kazakhstan 2006, the educational program on the specialty "General Medicine" is implemented according to the linear-modular system according to the scheme: BME (5 + internship 2). Internship is provided in the following areas of training: "General Practice", "Internal Medicine", "Surgery", "Obstetrics and Gynecology" "Pediatrics". Educational programs, depending on the chosen trajectory of training (clinical, scientific and pedagogical), include training in residency, magistracy, doctoral PhD.
On the 3rd course of the faculty "General Medicine" an integrated method of teaching was introduced. The principle is based on the modules of eight human systems:
