Are You Eligible for Studying MBBS in Georgia (New Admission criteria from 2018)?
For MBBS admission to medical colleges in Georgia, the student must attain at least 18 years of age and must have passed 10+2 or equivalent qualification with at least 50% marks in Science background comprising of Physics, Biology, and Chemistry as compulsory subjects. As per the rules implemented by Medical Council of India (MCI), obtaining qualifying cut-off percentile mark (passing mark) in NEET (National Eligibility & Entrance Test) is mandatory for MBBS in Georgia 2018. The most import aspect of being eligible for MBBS studies in Georgia from 2018-19 academic year is that Georgian Universities obligate all the students who have applied or are planning to apply for the Georgian study visa need to undertake the IELTS or TOEFL exam towards the proof of their English Language proficiency and submit the positive result at VFS Global service offices. For new applicants, the student visa application will not be accepted/processed by the VFS office without a minimum band score of IELTS/TOEL result.
After the Union Ministry of Health’s decision, all Indian Citizens / Overseas Citizen of India intending to obtain primary medical qualification from any medical institution outside India, on or after May 2018, shall have to mandatorily qualify the NEET for admission to MBBS course abroad. The result of NEET will be treated as the Eligibility Certificate for such persons, provided that such persons fulfils the eligibility criteria for admission to the MBBS course prescribed in the Regulations on Graduate Medical Education, 1997.
